Intro
Our partner is a product company from the Netherlands developing a modern Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) platform that helps organizations manage risk, compliance, governance processes, and regulatory requirements in a centralized and efficient way.
The project focuses on rebuilding and expanding an existing platform using an API-first architecture designed for scalability, flexibility, and seamless integrations. The solution is being developed entirely in TypeScript with a modern cloud-agnostic and containerized approach.
The engineering culture emphasizes code quality, maintainability, and collaboration through peer reviews, Azure DevOps pipelines, SonarCloud security analysis, and Prometheus-based monitoring.

Your team
You will join a cross-functional product team, working closely with QA Engineer, Domain Experts, and technical leadership on the client's side. The team follows an informal Agile approach with daily stand-ups, and prefers direct, ad-hoc communication (via chat or call) over scheduled meetings for day-to-day questions. English is used for documentation, backlog management, and team communication.

Your responsibilities
Develop and maintain backend services using NestJS and TypeScript.
Design and develop REST APIs following API-first principles.
Work with SQL and NoSQL databases as part of data-focused workloads.
Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms using OAuth and modern security standards.
Apply software security best practices in production-grade code.
Write unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
Work based on well-defined tickets prepared by domain experts.
Collaborate with the technical team and leadership on the client's side.
Participate in code reviews and align with peer-review and static analysis practices (SonarCloud and other security tools).
Work as part of the outstaff team within an informal Agile environment (daily standups, refinements, ad-hoc design discussions).
It's about you
Have 3+ years of development experience.
Experience with NestJS + TypeScript (or strong Node.js experience with willingness to learn NestJS).
Working knowledge of integrating with SQL/NoSQL databases.
Knowledge of software security practices, with experience working on production-grade software.
Experience in API design and development, with a solid understanding of RESTful principles.
Experience with OAuth and modern authentication mechanisms.
Practical knowledge of unit testing.
Experience working in Agile environments.
Upper-Intermediate English level or higher.
Location: Europe only (candidate must be based in EU timezone).
